Biography

Lindsay Velez is part of the litigation and trial practice group at the firm. She advocates for businesses, governmental entities, and individuals in various litigation cases such as contract disputes, discrimination, wrongful termination, retaliation, civil rights claims, negligence, fraud, and insurance disputes. Lindsay guides clients through the entire litigation process, from initial discussions to starting legal proceedings, offering defense, managing discovery, participating in trials or mediations, and handling the appellate process when needed.

Lindsay is also a member of the firm’s labor and employment group. She assists corporate clients in defending against employment claims brought under laws like Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), and other state and federal employment regulations.  Additionally, Lindsay assists governmental bodies in cases related to employment issues, police misconduct, and civil rights claims under 42 U.S.C. § 1983. She offers counsel on discrimination, harassment, retaliation, termination, and the requirements of numerous state and federal employment laws and works with clients to develop employee handbooks, confidentiality agreements and separation agreements.
