Biography

Gretchen McGill’s practice focuses on complex commercial litigation matters across a broad range of industries including insurance, construction, real estate, financial transactions and trusts and estates.  Gretchen’s litigation experience includes cases brought before state, federal and appellate courts, as well as administrative agencies.  Gretchen has also represented clients through mediation and arbitration.  Gretchen has significant experience serving in a general counsel role for her corporate clients whereby she regularly advises on risk management matters.

  • Baumgart v. O’Sullivan (In re Estate of Karmazin), 908 N.W.2d 381 (2018)
  • HBI, L.L.C. v. Barnette, 941 N.W.2d 158 (2020)
  • Negotiated a $1,000,000+ settlement for client in shareholder dispute 
  • Represented multiple construction companies against claims for defective work
  • Negotiated successful settlement for cancellation of construction contract
  • Represented company in breach of purchase agreement for real property
  • Negotiated reduction of over $100,000 in excise tax liability for client
