Biography

Cooper Johnson is a member of the firm’s business and corporate practice group. His practice is primarily concentrated on a broad range of general corporate and business matters, including entity formation and structuring, mergers and acquisitions, business succession planning, and the review and drafting of all types of business contracts. Prior to joining the firm, Cooper worked at a boutique sell-side investment banking firm in Minnesota, as well as a large accounting firm working primarily with tax matters.

Representative Experience

• Sale of both a home service industry training and business coaching company as well as a full-service marketing agency supporting contractor businesses to an investment firm.
• Sale of the Omaha Storm Chasers, an Triple-A affiliate of the Kansas City Royals, to Diamond Baseball Holdings.
• Sale of the Montgomery Biscuits, a Double-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays, to On Deck Partners.
• Sale of an aftermarket parts and equipment for food processing operations to a private equity firm.
• Sale of a higher-education-focused software solutions company to a private equity firm.
• Sale of a family-owned industrial fastener business.
• Sale of a landscape materials/supply company.
• Acquisition of Dundee Manufacturing Company, based in Dundee, Michigan, by Sioux Chief Manufacturing, a Kansas City-based manufacturer of rough plumbing products.
• Acquisition of United Farm (UFARM) by Peoples Company, an integrated lang management, brokerage, appraisal, and energy solutions company. 
• Acquisition of a leading modeling and simulation company.
